"Same Time, Next Year"
Known as one of the most popular romantic comedies of the century, both
on stage and film, "Same Time, Next Year," takes center stage
at the Cameo Theater on January 28. The plot follows a love affair between
two people, Doris and George, married to others, who rendezvous once a
year. Twenty-five years of manners and morals are hilariously and touchingly

"Vagina Monologues" auditions
Women of all ages are needed for the VDay San Antonio 2012 production
of "The Vagina Monologues" by Eve Ensler. Auditions will be
held January 31, 2012 at 6pm in the Palmetto Center for the Arts Black
Box Theatre at Northwest Vista College. Performances will be held at the
Guadalupe Theatre on March 7, 8, 9. The play will be performed in English
on March 7, and in Spanish on March 8 and 9. At the audition, you may
read a prepared monologue of your choice from the play, or you may read
a monologue cold. All actors are volunteers, as this event is held to
raise awareness of and funds for The Rape Crisis Center, the P.E.A.C.E.
Initiative, and Family Violence Prevention Services/Battered Women and

Webb Kick Off Party
Each year the San Antonio AIDS Foundation holds Kick-Off Parties to generate
funds to underwrite the costs and expenses for the WEBB Party. Attendees
at these parties can sign up as VIP supporters at various price levels.
The next Kick Off party is scheduled from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on February 2
at the Lambermont Estate, 950 E. Grayson Street. The evening will feature
a cash bar, food from Ocho Lounge and a live DJ. $25 admission includes
two free drinks. Admission is free if you are already a VIP or if you
become one that evening.

Maxie's Productions presents "Cafe at the End of Time," one
of a relatively small number of plays with lesbian relationships at their
heart. The story unfolds in a gay bar in the Florida Keys that's populated
by an assortment of memorable characters who call it home. This show is
not recommended for children or those potentially offended by the subject

On February 11, vocalist Azul Barrientos, turns the spotlight on the romantic
musical genre of the bolero at the Esperanza Peace and Justice Center,
at 8pm. As a response to the many requests and as an expression of love
to her many fans Azul will sing traditional Latin boleros. Just in time
for Valentine’s Day, Azul explores the bolero’s background
and its adaptation and fusion with other styles of music. Join us at the

Second Annual DANSA Marriage Equality Action
Please join the Direct Action Network of San Antonio for a peaceful and
very visible historic march to stand two by two in an enactment of the
marriage ceremony, as close to the Courthouse steps as we can get. At
10:30 PM, we will meet at Milam Park to prepare for our walk. Please wear
"wedding" attire- casual to formal is okay. 11:00 PM, we will
begin marching to the courthouse; wear comfortable shoes! At 12:01, we
will stand as close as we are permitted to the Courthouse steps and enact
the wedding ceremony along with our straight brothers and sisters.

Esperanza celebrando 25 años, presenta Lila
Downs
Known for her smoky voice and magnetic performances, Mexican-American
singer and composer Lila Downs has created one of the most singular explorations
of Mexican roots music on both sides of the border. This concert is the
kick-off event celebrating Esperanza Peace and Justice Center's 25th Anniversary.
On Sunday March 11 at Trinity University's Laurie Auditorium at 4 p.m.

Movie Night: "Paragraph 175"
Our Lady of the Lake University's Alliance is honored to present guest
speaker, Professor Jonathan Lee, from San Antonio College who will explain
talk about the LGBT community during the Holocaust. He be available for
Q&A after the film. Rupert Everett narrates this documentary about
the Nazi persecution of homosexuals during World War II. "Paragraph
175" refers to the old German penal code concerning homosexuality,
which was used to justify the prosecution of gay men during the war. As
mere rumor became enough to justify imprisonment, over 100,000 were arrested
and between 10,000 and 15,000 were sent to concentration camps. Thursday
March 22 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Sueltenfuss Library, on the OLLU campus,
411 S.W. 24th Street.

Non-Violent Civil Disobedience Training
A special training class sponsored by GetEQUAL TX. Guest trainers: Iana
Di Bona and Tiffany Bishop from Austin. Learn how to do peaceful, non-violent
at-risk actions. Trainers will discuss what happens in an arrest, legal
issues and terms, safety, the importance of consensus decision-making,
and tactics such as strategic non-violence, de-escalation, and passive
resistance. This training is a must for anyone interested in social justice.
