"Broken Record"
"Broken Record," a world premiere production of a new play by
award-winning playwright James Venhaus, tells the story of one couple...
in reverse. If you could go back and play your entire failed relationship
over again, would you? Should you? Would it make a difference? Ben and
Cynthia’s relationship is replayed from its bitter end back to its
sweet beginning. Performances are at the Overtime Theater, in the Blue
Star Complex, 1414 S. Alamo. There is a $12 general admission, and $9
for teachers, students, seniors 65+, active military, and SATCO members.

Proud 2B Labor Day White Party
The Proud 2b White Party benefits the Garza Rx Meds Fund. The Garza Rx
Meds Fund, now in its in it's sixth year of operation, provides funds
for medication for individuals referred from local HIV/AIDS Organizations.
The fund has had an increase in referrals in the past few weeks and is
quickly using its funds. At the Silver Dollar Saloon, 1814 Main Ave. from
4 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Ninth Annual Crystal Stone SAAF Auction
The auction will be held on Friday September 10, 2010 at 9:00 pm at The
Bermuda Triangle. There will be a live and silent auction during which
I will act as the auctioneer. I collect autographed items specifically
for this auction and I call on civic minded organizations to become involved
as well. Last year the Crystal Stone SAAF auction raised over $4,500.00.
This year’s goal is $6,000.00.

"Dump the Pump" Exxon Mobil Protest
The Direct Action Network of San Antonio is staging a protest against
Exxon Mobile. The employment policies of Exxon Mobile are not inclusive
of sexual orientation or gender identity and without such a policy, employees
of Exxon Mobil could be fired simply because of they are LGBT. Grab your
friends and your signs and head to the Exxon Tiger Mart station on the
corner of Babcock and Wurzbach, in the Medical Center, September 14 at
6 p.m. In the meantime, encourage others to not buy gas or products from
them.

Acuerdo Por Ti)
"I’ll Remember For You" by Lisa Suarez is a new bilingual
theater production depicting a Mexican-American woman’s experiences,
feelings and thoughts surrounding her mother’s dementia and memory
loss. Performances are on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays
at 3 p.m. at The Sterling Houston Theater, 108 Blue Star. Admission is

A new and original play written and performed by the Teatro ALAS High

SAAF Walk for Life
The San Antonio AIDS Foundation started the Walk for Life in 1991. Each
year, hundreds of South Texans gather to celebrate life and to raise funds
for SAAF. The Walk for Life promotes awareness and generates funds that
allow SAAF to continue its pursuit of providing compassionate medical
care and social services to people with HIV/AIDS and to help prevent the
spread of HIV through education and free HIV testing. Saturday, September

Screening: "The Laramie Project"
GALA of San Antonio College will have a special free screening of the
Laramie Project. The film follows members of the Tectonic Theater Project
in Laramie, Wyoming after the murder of Matthew Shepard in Laramie, Wyoming.
This is a special event to kick off National Coming Out Week October 11
- 15. There will be a guest speaker with a brief introduction about Matthew
before the film, and afterwards there will be a Q and A session.
