on July 2.

Even though there was a fence around the Pride San Antonio Block Party
in Crockett Park it could not contain the sheer size of the celebration.
The entire Main Avenue strip, from the Essence Bar on the south to the
Silver Dollar Saloon at the northern end, was bursting to the seams
with revelers.

Lesbian singer-songwriter Melissa Esparzaruiz Rodriguez, who performs
under the name Earth Krumbz, was on stage this week at Salute on North
St. Mary's. QSanAntonio photographer Antonia Padilla reports that Rodriguez'
set included original songs reminiscent of progressive performers like
Bjork.

fourth annual Luminaria Arts Festival.

QSanAntonio photographer Antonia Padilla was invited to the dress rehearsal
for Adelina Anthony's three-part performance, "La Hocciona Series
-- An Original X-X-Xicana Comedic Triptych of Scandalous Proportions!"
which runs at the Sterling Houston Theater at Jump-Start from February
25 - 27. The resulting photos show the performance artist going through
the paces of her show using her expressive face to punctuate her words.

Tens of thousands assembled on January 17 for the annual San Antonio Martin
Luther King Day March. The procession, which is said to be the largest
in the nation, included groups with GLBT representation including the
Metropolitan Community Church, the Human Rights Campaign and the Esperanza
